The new Citroen C5 will produce Opel

Cooperation which was signed two months ago, General Motors and PSA group just went step higher. In an interview with French magazine Ouest France, the head of PSA factory in Rennes, Jean-Luc Perrard revealed that the new generation of Citroen C5 instead of their plants will be made at the Opel factory.

For now it is not known that the plant will be responsible for the production of the new Citroen C5, which is known as the X8, but chances are it is an Opel factory in Rüsselsheim, where it currently produces Insignia.

One of the points in the partnership was signed distribution deals between the two companies. While the PSA took over the task of creating a new generation of Citroen C3, Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa, General Motors will address the development of future generation Citroen C5 sedan, 508, and Insignia.

Going model Citroen C5 the production line in Rennes France will compensate for the new models, and prepare for their arrival will begin soon.
